Sick little boy

Jackson has been not well since Tuesday. I took him in to see his pediatrician Dr. Nelson on Thursday and he said he just had a virus and he should be fine by Friday...well I took him to daycare on Friday (I needed to go back to work at least one day since we were on vacation the rest of the week). Heidi (daycare provider) said he was fine all day, didn't sleep but maybe 1/2 hour but he played with the other kids and ate well. Jeff picked him up at about 2:00pm after work and they went home. When I got home around 5:00pm Jeff said Jackson had been sleeping and very lethargic. He started getting a rash on his trunk and got a fever again. He slept on me till about 7ish and then we put him to bed. Since he had been sleeping since about 4:00pm the night before he was up at 4:30am this morning. When he woke up I brought him into bed with us hoping he would go back to sleep. No such luck. He was screaming and crying and just seemed in extreme pain. I called the on call Dr. and she said to give him Tylenol and make an appointment to be seen later in the morning. We made an appointment at 9:45am and Jackson and I fell back to sleep on the couch for a little while.

We got to the Dr's office and they took a rapid strep test since he had a rash and had been grabbing at his mouth for a while. When the Dr. came in she looked in his mouth and saw a huge sore about the size of a dime on the inside right cheek. With the rash all over, swollen lymph nodes on the back of his head, sores in his mouth and just seemed in pain the Dr. said it was Hand, Foot, and Mouth Virus. Of course there is no prescription for this virus, but there is a concoction you can create to coat the inside of the mouth. It is 1 part Benedryl to 1 part Maalox, and of course ibuprofen. He can't have anything acidic and nothing salty. Well he hasn't been eating much anyway so that was easy, but the Dr. was concerned about him not drinking. She said try Popsicles and juice and milk.

Poor Jackson has just been miserable all day and so have mommy and daddy. I am praying in desperation that this will be gone tomorrow. I just can't afford to miss any more work and I want my sweet little boy back.

If you are reading this please pray for us as we have been on edge lately and just need our lives to be back to normal.

Thanks

Accident

I get a phone call from Jeff at about 9:00am on Monday, "well, I got in an accident," he says. I had flash backs from April when Jeff called me at work and said he had been in an accident and was fired. At this point I ask, what happened. He says, "I was on a residential street and running behind cuz the first truck I had broke down so after I p/u the first house and thought I missed the one before it, so I looked in my mirrors and reversed about 8 feet stopped and checked my mirrors again. At that point I realized I hit a car and was pushing it backwards." I at this point asked how big was the car and was the car parked or stopped behind you. He then said, "the car was a Kia Rio, and the woman in the car had pulled up too close behind me that he didn't see her in my mirrors until I stopped." When Jeff got out of the garbage truck to look at the damage his truck was on top of her hood so much so that when the tow truck got there he had to use a tool to pry the two apart. My fear was still that Jeff was going to get fired or something. He later told me the boss just said it happens and never made any mention of it again.

Then yesterday Jeff calls me again and says he doesn't have a current valid MN drivers license. Oh man, what?? He said when the insurance company ran his drivers license he had a Alabama license and the MN one was not valid. I guess what ended up happening was when we were living in AL Jeff got an AL license and they clipped his MN one. Well, when we moved back he went to the DMV and told them the situation and they clipped his AL one and reinstated the MN one or so he thought. I guess the person at the DMV never reinstated his MN license and therefore he was driving without a valid MN license since March.

Hopefully everything is okay now and he has a valid license and won't have any more accidents.

Poor Jeff!!

Six-Pack

For those of you that didn't believe that I got 6 strikes in a row, I took a picture to show you. On my last blog I think I told you I got 285 as my highest score, I lied. It was 258, sorry I must be dyslexic.
They call 6 strikes in a row a six-pack hence the title of this entry. No I don't have one :) Maybe I will after how much Wii I have been playing the last few days :)
Later!

Laziness

Being off work has created this lazy person in me that I am not sure if I like. This morning for example, Jackson was up by 6:00am, we ate and played, then sat on the couch and watched the Today show (well I tried). I then decided to play a little Wii. We bought this new bowling game at Target yesterday called AMF Bowling Pinbusters, its not as great as we thought but it was only $14.99 (oh well). I then switched to regular bowling (you know the one that came with the Wii)and beat my highest score 285 that's 6 strikes in a row!! Then it was tennis and baseball I was on a roll. At this point it was 9:45 and Jackson was starting to get tired so I put him down for a nap and decided to take one myself. It is now 12:00pm and I am still in my pj's as well as Jackson and I am trying to figure out what to do next. Maybe some Wii fit to complete the day. What have I got myself into. I am a maniac!!

Signed your lazy friend, Heather :)
